Default Best Shocks?

I'm going to be needing to be purchasing some new shocks for my 2001 Ford F 150 single cab off road. Just wondering if anybody had any suggestions or their personal preferences on what would be best to purchase.

don't really do too much off roading in my truck, but I kind of like my ride a little stiff

There are over 500 threads on shocks.
Monroe, Gabriel, Fox, Bilistien, KYB, OEM, it is all a matter of preference. So long as it is not the cheapest Monroe or Gabriel, it will be fine. I have Monroe Gas Magnums on the front and Gabriel Ultra on the rear, ride better than the OEM ones I took of with 170,000 miles on them, and are fine for me.

I have Monroe OE Spectrum shocks on mine, and they feel just like the factory shocks to me.

If you've never replaced them event the cheapest shocks you can get will feel way better.. If you do it your self the big trick to the rear shocks is to cut the top bolt off with a rip saw with a long blade. Makes it so much easier..

My factory were 0k at 230k

Fox....stiffer for sure

On a road with an short uneven dip on one side, like sunken pothole, It throws me to the side now when go over. Very noticeable

Honestly....14 yr old, 230k mile factory is better on road for everyday driving.

They arnt as stiff as the KYB monomaxs I had before. So far they are a huge improvement. I only have the rears on right now tho. Gonna do the fronts this weekend or next week
