The OEM plug is designed for your engine by Ford to fit and work with no issues.
Whether the OEM plug is long, short or in between it does not matter if you have a stock engine, it will work.

Any aftermarket plug that is spec'ed for your engine also will fit without causing damage, but how well the plug works (and how close the tip is to where Ford designed it) is another matter.

Just go to the parts store and get 6 Motorcraft SP-504 plugs.
Put them in and don't worry about it.

In my cars, motorcycle, and predivorcee my fine boat, I have tried every spark plug under the sun. Hot ones, cold ones, split fire, iridium, and just about everything possible. And at the end of the day, I have concluded stock is the way to have no problems. And I got the bonus plan on everyday problems, why add more.

Stock Rules. And if you don't think so, I will fight you. J/king. lol

Maybe I'm just getting old, but damn.............I find it a bit odd, that everyone one here has given the same advise, yet the OP still questions what we are telling him and showing him. Why the hell ask the question, if you are not going to believe what is given? I am finding it hard to give answers when they don't want to listen. JMO. Anyone else getting a bit peeved over this?

Question though:
My neighbor had the same truck as me. He sold it, and then, came over and gave me a package of SP-432.

Anyone know if this is a hotter plug. I was going to keep them as spares until I saw the wrong numbers?

Jack

You can use it in a 4.6L.

It's a fine wire platinum. Great Plugs!

SP432 fit the 4.6's up to 2000, without the PI heads. If you or a friend have this application, they are great plugs. Did you get 8?
