Default bent tow hook

I purchased my 2002 FX4 with a bent tow hook, well the actually frame is bent down causing the tow hook to point downwards, i have no body or frame work experience but is this something that could be fixed? Can the frame be fabricated or be bent back to the right position?

It's a longshot, but depending on how big the opening is in the tow hook you may be able to stick the end of a piece of thick walled iron pipe in there and use a hydraulic floor jack to push up the other end and bend it back up to shape to match the other side. Could you post a picture of what it looks like? Does your tow hook have open ends or is it a closed loop? Mine are extremely beefy and could take punishment and bend the frame back before they were bent themselves.

I had the same issue after I rear ended someone, i put a bar through it and then used a hilift to bend it back into place

Mine is bent the same way. I ended up taking them off because I broke 2 tow hooks wheeling. Using 3/4" hitch pins as front recovery points now. Much better approach angle.

Nobody's ever used a porta-power before? All you need is a little hydraulic pressure... hi lifts will work too, but more difficult and more strain. Anyone who's ever worked on heavy equipment will tell you a porta-power will straighten damn near anything. You should be able to rent one from a equipment rental store.

back when i worked at a body shop thats what we used when the frame machine was being used, now that frame machine is really one big porta power with chains and rails to grab the frame of the vehicle.
