Hey y'all. New to the forum, got a question bout my starter. Recently starter started to click when turning key, had starter tested, told it was good. Replaced firewall selnoid, and the starter then started to whine as if bendix was not retracting from the flywheel. Replaced the starter and the bendix still not retracting. Any ideas why a newly bought remanufactured starter bendix will still not retract while the truck is running. Any advice would be awesome.

 

Same thing happened to me the firewall solenoid was never bad man it's the ground wire on the starter it's probably frayed it's going to fail soon while your down there check out the positive cable it corrodes and you can re clamp it but the starter will crap out real soon

 

I took a look, theres one wire thats split starting to fray. Going to trace that wire see where it connects at and replace that and the ground wire that goes from the starter to the frame. See if that will fix it. Thanks for the advice.
