Default Belt squeal

Hey guys I've noticed lately the belt on my truck is squealing upon start up when the engine is cold seems to be quite when the truck warms up. I replaced the alternator 2 months ago and the tensioner is in range. Was just wondering if the belt it worn or could be glazed plus what is the life span of a belt? I replaced it at 130,000 now the truck is knocking on 227,000 and the belt looks fine but could be stretched? Truck is a 99 with the 5.4. Thanks in advance, Clay.

Nearly 100,000 on a belt!- id change the belt first!- then check your idlers and alternator for roughness while the belts are off-

and make sure there is not a fluid leak that may be getting the belt or pulley's wet. buy a good quality belt.

I just bought my truck a couple months ago, could have sworn it was the idler pulley. Ended up being the belt, changed it and squeal went away.

Well took the belt off and spun every thing by hand. Everything seems to be fine no grinding noises or no play in anything and the truck isn't leaking anything surprisingly because it is an old high mileage truck. Guess I'll buy a higher quality belt like a gates or motorcraft and hopefully it stops. Someone told me it was the fan clutch but I don't think it would be that.
