Bbk pullys and tb
I'm sure this has been talked about on here. But I thought I would post my results. Just upgraded to the BBK underdrive pullys and TB at the same time. Just some side notes first. I have a 99 f150 5.4 2v 4x4 sc with a hard tonneau, tool box in the bed, full size spare, and 33x12.50s. So its still slow but a little better. Back to back gtech runs were 9.1 to 60, after the upgrades 8.6 to 60. I was pretty pleased. Before I had only run 8.5 to 60 with all the extra weight out of the truck, including the tailgate. Will try again with the weight reduction later. Anyway thought somebody might care. By the way this is not the piggy back pully but the full replacements. Later, B
Got the truck on the dyno this weekend. Big fat 209 hp. I was hoping for a little more. TQ was not bad at 329. Long tubes and gears next. Until I can get hold of another mustang, I'll just keep playing with the truck.
BBK 75MM throttle body, and billet alu. underdrive pulleys. The pulleys are lighter and a little smaller, therefore less drag on the engine to turn them compared to stock. The motor doesn't make anymore power, you just waste less turning heavier parts, and more goes to the wheels. The throttle body might give a little power. Not much alone. With later upgrades I'm sure it will help more. But I have to say throttle response is a huge differance. For 400.00 dollars to the door and installed myself, I think it was worth it. Plus my last 400 mile trip, my gas milage was up almost 2mpg.
