My mechanic just quoted me a price of about 30 for the ball joint and a hour labor. then he said so about 40-50 but, he may be able to get the part a little cheaper.

you have an awesome mechanic, most mechanics are like $90/hour and charge double the normal price of parts

Ya I hope this keeps up with this guy. He just rebuilt a engine for my truck a complete tear down. Machined all the parts assembled and installed back in my truck for 2600.00 He had me come in to put it on the rack after 200 miles to check everything over. Then I go back at 1000 for a oil change and one more check. Then he will back the motor the rest of the year. Ya I'm lining business up for him as well. He stays busy. He just does this on the side from his real mechanics job at a dealership they let him use the shop on the weekends and after hours.

I replaced both upper and lower ball joints on mine last year. Replaced with all Moog parts, all together ran me somewhere around $350-$375. Not counting the $100 rental fee for the press, which you ofcourse get back upon return
