Great, able to work it in ehh. Must be difficult to get the time with all that's going on. That said, with all you've got into it thus far, I'd be a little anxious at this point.

Yea it was an e bay cart. Just got the chance to check. Was sure I found the tube and stick together, I need both...I've been using a 4six tube and stick for the last 10 years. I happened to have that one complete on the shelf when my last rusted out. They don't last here if you drive in the winter. Same w/trans stick tube. Anyway, I didn't find a tube yet either I guess. This makes tube #3 for the crank, on my second for the trans.

No problem! They pretty much make all the little bits and pieces that fail over time. They also have a dip stick itself.

You can get away with it but I don't advise. For the 5four block the 4six tube it too short and will contact steering components (steering linkage shaft/ "boot" to be precise) during rotation (while turning the vehicle right to left).

In other words, you can dislodge the stick seat from the tube. You can go through installing yourself to see what I mean, but yea, you won't like or be satisfied with it. I suggest avoiding that all together, specially with your engine.
