Hi all, New this Forum looks pretty good.... I have a question.

I have a 2001 F150 extended cab full size bed 2WD with the 5.4L TRITON V-8.......... anyway... my service engine light is on and when the codes are pulled it says that every sensor is bad...... in addition every so often the oil light comes on the transmission "sticks" in which ever gear it was in at the time....the speedometer goes dead and the temp guage stops working......also the overdrive light flashes...this happens at the same time. resetting the brain helps and then the truck doesn't start for about ten minutes.... Is it the ECM of something else?

I guess I'll reply to my self.....yep. PCM was bad took it to the stealership and they confirmed it with a twist the mechanic could get it to change idle and all kinds of fun stuff..5 hours later and 840.77 later the truck got a brain transplant and a new key and i didnt get any vasaline... damn dealerships....damn computers.... but on the bright side no more unwanted breakdowns on the side of the road

 

Sounds like you got a good deal on the service.
How many codes were showing up? 20 something? I've never seen over 7, just wondering for future reference.

 

While reading original thread my brain was telling me a poor ground someplace. Wonder if I can get a brain transplant for that price.

 

It was actually THREE pages of codes...I didnt get to see what ones or if they were repeated over and over but he said it was a few hundred...
