Default backup camera install

I'm wanting to install my back up camera on my truck today but im not sure what color wires I need to tap into on the reverse light, from what I've researched the blk/pnk wire is the power line. is that right? And which color should be the ground? Thanks in advance

What year is the truck? Also, did the camera kit manufacturer give you enough power wire to make the connections inside the cab? It's recommended since the connections will not be exposed to weather and road debris.

98,xlt f150 4.6L Vin 6, and I got a power cord for both the camera n lcd monitor, reading further the reverse light should have 2 wires only to tap into I'm guessing the blk/pnk wire is supposed to be the one under the dash?

Unfortunately I don't have any wiring diagrams going back that far. A quick check with a 12v tester will confirm your guess of the black/pink wire.

Sorry not of much help here. All you will need to locate is the power wire, then use the chassis for ground as there is no point in grounding to the light bulb wire.
