Back Window Gun Rack Fabrication and Install
Wanted a place to keep my guns and fishing poles out floor, so I opted on building a rack. I have had many rear window racks and they all performed... well pretty much, awful. The plastic and hardware they come with are really sub par and they never stay in place when holding multiple guns. Hence, my need for building my own.
I used a couple pieces of 1/4 carbon infused steel bars and some MDF to make the supports and brackets. I used multiple coats of Valspar primer then used rubberized black paint to match the cab. The rubberized coating is very durable and actually gives a nice soft support for the barrel and stock. It also resists sliding, so your guns stay safely over head.
I attached the racks to a bolt that holds the back glass into place. No holes were drilled into my cab, all mounting was done my screws already on the truck.
