Default Axle problems

Ok so i had a rear pinion bearing go out and i had to replace the axle. but in doin so i think i got a 410 rear instead of a 355, so my question is is it better to replace front diff gear whole front diff or fix rear diff gears. does any one have a front diff with 410 or an extra set of gears layin around please help cant use 4 wd and its killin me

I say you go ahead and regear the front just to keep the low end torque that the 410s provide. just make sure your rear is actually 4.10 because that would suck if you made the front 4.10 and the rear ended up being 3.73s or something different. That would be one hell of a pricey mistake.

True true time for stupid question how do i tell without the obvious removin the cover. any way

there should be a tag on it somewhere that would indicate gear size if not there should be a code. I am not sure just because I have never dealt with this I am going off what I have read on this forum. Where did you get the axle? I am guessing a junk yard?
