its not really a big problem but i just took my truck to the shopd for some things and they fixed mine while they were working on my cause my shifter had a lot of play, the mechanic said there are a few bolts that hold it to the steering column and they were so loose that it was about to fall off anf he tighten evrythingf up and it is very tight like new now. u could prob take ur dash apart and fix it urself or take it somewhere but id def get it fixed before it falls off lo. i have also heard that there is an aluminum collar on the shifter tht sometimes wallows out but i think that is on f250 idk anyway not a big thing but get it fixed sometime

could be a loose gear shift rail. I saw a youtube video replacing the shaft. Looked real easy.
