Default Anyone ever use this for a winch mount?

I'm buying a 12000lb winch tomorrow and I wanted to know if anyone has ever bought one of these to hook the winch into and would it be strong enough to be able to pull on? Thanks

I would look into the rating of that receiver, most that size are only rated for 5-6000 lbs. Even bolted to the frame, your weakest link will give. Looks like a good idea, just make sure everything is strong enough for pulling out a 6000 lb truck.

Weakest link here is likely to be the bolts mounting it to the trucks frame... Easy fix is to bolt it on, then drive it to a local welder and have it "permanently" attached... Next one is likely the pin that holds the ball mount, or in your case the winch plate, into the receiver. Best thing you can do is buy the best one you can find, and at least if that fails you only have to replace it
