Take your time, pop the fuel rail if needed, and torque to 28 ft/lbs no anti seize. A long spark plug socket and taping the extensions together will also help.

I use a spark plug socket with the swivel on top, 6 inch extension.

See I was told to use anti seize?

My instructions from a guy who did it on his truck (an 06) was this:

-use lots of penetrating spray
-get a special long socket from ford to prevent breaking the plugs
-only use ford plugs
And use anti seize when putting them back in.

Is this wrong and if so why??

Thanks again
Kyle

The 04-08 is a totally different animal. The 3v 5.4L had a problem with the plugs breaking, which warrants the need for anti seize. The 2v 97-03 5.4L has a problem with blowing plugs out of the head, which is why there is an updated 28 ft/lbs dry standard for our trucks. I do agree using Motorcraft plugs. SP479 would be the ones you want. For more info on plug breaking look here, especially FAQ #51.
