What's the best way to disable the abs on a 97 f-150 4x4? Abs is great in sun and rain but dangerous as hell in snow. I park on a hill and when I pull out in the snow I'm scared to death because it won't stop and picks up speed and won't stop till the bottom. Non ABS f-150's will lock up the wheels and stop in 10 or 20 feet. I have a 96 and 98 Mustang GT and the 98 with the Abs does the same thing. I can't tell you how many times I slid past a stop sign or red light that everyone else has no problems stopping at.
