Also I was reading up on intake manifold leak symptoms (loss of power, hissing noise, rough idle, coolant, leak). I did check the oil, looks as clean as can be, no coolant in it, and do not have any of the other symptoms... Hoping for to see a hose or heater core leaking... Again will keep y'all posted, and greatly appreciate all the feedback.

Default Updated with pictures

Attached some pics, definitely coming from above the tranny, dripping down around the tranny, starter area... What do y'all think? Heater Core? I checked all around the intake manifold, didn't see anything leaking around it, no hissing noise, no coolant in the oil, no loss of power or rough idle....

On the down side, I believe you have to remove the dashboard to get to the heater core... still got to be one of the dumbest design flaws EVER... lol

Definitely not a heater core. Get a flash light and a mirror and look under the intake manifold.

I have a coolant leak on my 2001 F150 5.4L Lariat Crew cab, 140K miles

It's leaking on the driver side rear of engine. From lookingat the engine from the top or underneath the truck, I can't find it. It'sdripping on the front of the tranny and pooling in the driveway, not a massiveamount but enough. Weird thing, it only leaks at night when the engine is coldand the ambient temp is below 40 degrees or so, if it's warmer there are nospots in the driveway at all. I think its antifreeze because when I come homefrom work there are no oil spots, it's dry.

Just checked mine again and its the EXACT same spots yours is leaking from. The heater core lines are dry and the line running from the front to the rear of the engine (not sure what it's called)seems dry also. Any luck finding the leak?

Default Issue solved!!!

It was the intake Manifold... Gasket was fine, but was cracked unfortunately. Unless you know where to look for these, they can be touch to find the leaking spot, especially where mine was leaking. The manifold was cracked toward the front of the Engine, but the coolant was draining out toward the back of the engine over the tranny... I attached some pics.

I took it to Don Chamler in Rio Rancho, NM... These guys were GREAT to work with and the mechanic had me come back to show me everything that I was wrong (including the Oil Filter adapter gasket leaking. They even let me bring in my own Intake Manifold that cost 1/2 what Ford was charging for one, and still warrantied everything. Was still $800 due to the amount of labor, which sucks, but they were good folks for sure.

Thanks for all the help guys and I hope this helps anyone that ever has this issue.
