Another Windsor/Romeo Question
I am new to the forum and have a few questions regarding Windsor/Romeo interchange.
I have a 1998 Lariat that has a worn non-PI Windsor engine. The engine had head problems and I decided to swap a complete Romeo PI engine from a 2002 F-150. The only problem is that I found out that the 02 engine block is cracked. All other parts are all in great condition because it is a very low mileage engine. The blocked cracked because it was sitting someone's backyard for a few years and had no anti-freeze in it.
I want to use the Romeo intake, heads, pistons, rods and crank in my Windsor block. Can I use the Romeo re-ringed pistons, rods and crank in my Windsor block without any compatibility issues? I noticed that the thrust bearings are different and the main bearing caps are different as well. Will I run into any bottom end issues?
I am aware of all other issues involved (6 vs. 8 bolt crank, temp sensor, heater hoses, coil pack vs. cop design, etc.). The only concerns I have involve using the Romeo rotating assembly in the Windsor block.
