Default Another towing question

Okay here is my set-up. '02 F150 4x4, 5.4l, 155k miles. I plan on towing a 5x8 uhaul trailer cross-country with two motorcycles. Trailer is 900lbs+two bikes at approx. 250lbs each, total weight 1400-1500lbs. i will also have approx. 300 lbs of cargo in the bed. So maybe total weight of 2k lbs.
My question: should I turn off the overdrive for the journey? Or only in hilly sections?

Thanks!

you can leave the od on, it'l shift down on it's own. in the hilly sections i would put it in 3rd to keep the tranny from hunting between gears. i tow a 1200 trailer with my 800 quad with me, the wife and my 2 chocolate labs. they are a hundred lbs apiece with her expedition. no problem.

Thanks guys. The trip was completed with no issues, I was able to leave in it OD most fthe time except for some mountain/hilly areas. Went from California to Pennsylania, used NO oil. clock's reading around 158,500 miles now. Just keeps on ticking.
