Default Another no low beam issue!

Yes, I have tried searching through the existing threads, but I have no resolution yet.
ISSUE: No low beams, left or right. Highbeams are good.
I have replaced the MFS. I have replaced fuses 26 & 28. I tested the headlight switch.
LAST RESORT: Check the bulbs. Okay. I can do this.
Remove headlight? Check/
Remove wiring from light? We have a problem, Houston. This IS NOT a stock headlight, and I don't know how to test the lights.

I am the third owner, the previous one is dead, have no way of contacting the first owner.

Help?

What are your full vehicle details. You can unplug that wire on the left and see if it's getting powered. It appears that maybe the ballast on the back of the light may have the problem.

Curious about these lights. They appear to be an HID setup but doesn't appear to be a cheap aftermarket setup. Can you post more pics of the lights for us? Thanks.

I now know that these are HID lights. I base this on the assumption that there are HID light controllers.

Given that my experience with repairing vehicles is limited to "keep it running to keep it in the fight," would it be easier to replace the whole assembly?
And I will check that wire in the morning.

I can unplug the larger harness (obviously), but the lower plug has nothing more than a rubber boot at the light. In order to test it I am going to need to find some sort of documentation, and check it at the controller (presuming I can unplug it from the controller).

Yep, HID setup. That is not a recommended setup for those lights. That must throw a wall of glare at oncoming drivers. I would replace the entire HID setup with a stock headlight setup with either halogen bulbs or some higher end LED bulbs which have a better cutoff than the cheapos available all over scAmazon and fleBay.

Yes. YES. All of this, YES.

I've never been fond of the whole HID concept, and if this is the route that I need to go / should go, I have no issue,

Seriously. I DESPISE the whole blue HID lights I have here in SE Arizona!

For years my father-in-law would come to our house, but leave before sundown. When we asked he always replied that he couldn't drive after dark.
Given the fact that he was in his 60s when he started telling us this we naturally assumed it was his eye sight.

No.

He had no headlights.

I should be able to unplug the OEM wiring harness from the HID ballast/control unit/ what-have-you and either use OEM lights or HED, right? Right?

Please say right....

There's white lights and then there are way-too-blue-why-would-you-install-those blue lights. LOL. I ran into a truck heading the opposite way the other night on my way to work. The truck had super blue lights. I'm sure he/she couldn't see jack squat with them things. I prefer a nice white 5000K led but and even my current low-beam LEDs (6000K) are a bit bluish for my taste but I like their decent cutoff in my reflector-based stock lights.
