Default Another exhaust post

Ok so after doing some research using the search option in here I'm still lost as for what I want to do with my exhaust set up. The truck had a flowmaster 40 on it and it was too quiet for me, and now I have no muffler on the truck and it is dumped under the bed. It sounds good the way it is but I want to have a tail pipe and muffler again to make it legal. I graduate from college in August and plan to use some of my grad money for my exhaust. Now what I want to do is have a single pipe that is like a 3" diameter, my question is what muffler should I run to get a deep tone from a 4.6L and do I have to replace my cats with high flows to do this. I would prefer to keep the cats due to CT having emissions testing.

Thanks in advance for the advice
Jon

you can weld in any muffler you want, no you don't have to have hi-flo cats, unless you want the added hp and sound. Try the pypes violator setup...
