I have a 98 f150 xl regular cab sb with the 4.6L/5 speed manual/3.55 posi combo. I bought the truck new and it is still in great shape, but it is rapidly approaching the 200k mark. I have thought about trading it in under the $4500 clunker program, but I really don't like the thought of scrapping it or having car payments for the next 5 or 6 years. Anyway, I am thinking of a 05+ mustang 4.6 3v 350HP swap along with a Keisler T-56 (they have a shifter relocation mod to work in a truck) and would like to use the Ford Racing Harness/Computer Kit (the one that states it will allow the motor to run in anything). Does anyone have any experience with this kit/swap or know of what issues I still might encounter? I thought since the truck was already a manual and v-8 without any bells and whistles (no power accessories, auto trans, cruise, PATS ect) it may be easier? I need to still have a functioning check engine light and OBDII without codes to pass locale emissions. Thanks...
