Default Another bRaking problem

Ok 97F150 2wd replaced the back rear drum brakes. Drive down the road and came back home the drums was so hot you could feel the heat coming from them and smell the brakes. What could be wrong any ideas ?

Did you loosen the spring off at the bottom that tightens as your brakes wear down. If you didn't, then you're running the new pads super tight. Almost as if you were braking the whole time. Which would be the result of the heat.

It sounds like the shoes are dragging on the drums from over adjustment. Back them off a little bit and you should be alright.
