No experience with that cover, but just black RTV is all I ever use. Never once had a leak either. I just clean both surfaces with alcohol or brake cleaner, and it works perfectly.

I've had the Ultra Black leak, but it took 60,000 miles for it to start leaking. Prepping is done with sander, a little palm sander works. (That's after wiping out the sump and packing the diff with rags). Then you final wipe matting surfaces with acetone or alcohol (medium vap acetone best). Permatex has a better product made just for gear oil now. Permatex Green for gear oil. Actually it's called the new grey. Grey was the first color permatex came out with way back when, this is the improved grey. You apply it to the cover vs the diff itself. Then line it up without smearing.

There's also a better product for diff , trans and block plugs available. They will never leak or seize with this stuff, Loctite 567. It's been around for awhile, use to be terribly expensive. It can be purchased in smaller quantities now, the most versatile thread sealant Loctite makes.

Guess I'll mention , -Through much trail and fail, best product for keeping your brake caliper pins working, - 3M clear silicon paste. This stuff just keeps working and puts the Permatex purple to shame ...like night and day. Really got tiring servicing the pins every so often, shouldn't have to.

No problem, yea I've been using it for about year now. Winter is over, pins usually have to be serviced. Not this time, calipers are still retracting, no stick. The stuff holds up, - impressively.

I have that G2 cover setting in a box in the garage awaiting my gear upgrade. It looks like a quality piece.
