We have one mech. in town here and got a price from him for the level and alignment, he installs it , then it turns out that he is minus that equipment for the alignment and says he can eyeball it, I feel I am in the *****hole of the earth. My first thought was to ask the owner of the place to buy a basic rack, what does the price start at?

 

my local guy has the equipment - charges $50. i took it in the first time & found that i needed tie rod ends. he didn't charge me. i replace the ends, took it back. charged me. it wasn't quite right so he made it good. i think most places would charge you even with bad parts because the labor is about the same good parts or bad. you cannot eye ball an alignment. might be worth a drive to find a better shop

Hope you did not pay for an alignment... There is no way you can eyeball it...
