Default Aligning

Any one do there own alignment on a 99. Just replaced both sides inner and outer tie rods, sway bar links, front shocks and both lower ball joints. I managed to get the wheels straight but when i drive down the road, the steering wheel is 10 deg off to the left. I feel like im missing something but than again never did my own alignment before.

For the steering wheel you need to adjust the tie rods.

What would all the adjustments be to include the tie rods.

Google "DIY alignment."

It can be done with tape measures and string, but I'd rather just fork over the $50 and let the pros with the computers do it.

By adjusting the tie rod length, you're adjusting the toe of the wheel. Undo the set screws at either end and rotate the center rod as needed. One end is reverse-threaded so it will pull the two ends together or push them apart depending on which way you turn it, lengthening or shortening the rod.

That's the principle but again, it's something I'd let the pros do. A misaligned truck can be very unsafe to drive.

Thanks for the help i did the DIY string and looked how the front tire disappeared with the rear tire but one can only do so many crunches before the belly starts craving beer. LOL.
