Default Air Re-circulation

I got new to me truck this last weekend, and its a 1999 f150 with the 4.6 (not the same truck as in my signature). and its A/C is out, but the vents smell awful, so i ripped the dash apart and cleaned the vents very well. There is still a slight smell, and i was going to use this product to help with the smell.

The only issue is, it needs re-circulation to work, so will the fans still recirculate the air even if the A/C compressor is bad?

Thanks.

Yes, as long as the blend door still works that makes it recirculate.

One of the best things that you can do for smell is get a product called "Kool-It" and spray it in the drain hole for the condenser. Worked great on mine... and I need to do it again because it's been 4 years.
