Default Accident

So yesterday someone ran into when pulling out of there parking spot, hit the back of my back door my bed side and my tire. Now when i turn my back axle makes a weird noise and i just pulled in my drive way and it wouldnt let me turn the key all the way back when i turned it off. I was going to drive down to the end of the street. When i was at the end of the driveway it popped out of gear and would just rev up. I touched the gear shifter and it popped back in. I was wondering if anyone knew if this could be caused by the accident. My truck is an 03 F150 Supercrew with the 5.4.

well if it never happened before i would say yes it probably has something to do with the accident im really not sure but i would take it to a shop and ave it looked at before its to late to get the other person to pay for the damage or their insurance

It just seems unlikely that such a minor accident would mess that up. The truck only has 87000 miles on it so I didn't think I would be having problems with my transmission yet, if it wasnt for this accident. I'm definitely going to get it checked out though.
