I have F150 2000 XL 4.2L V6. My truck's AC has a tiny leak and is not blowing cold air so I recently added more R134 freon. I now get cold air and quite happy with the AC performance. However, I noticed that the return line (low pressure) to the AC compressor sweats excessively, much more visible than the condensation at the Accumulator. I can see the water dripping from line condensation on to the serpentine belt and compressor. I never paid attention to this until now. Not sure if this is normal. If it continues, I am afraid that it might prematurely damage the serpentine belt and compressor
See attached pictures and my video clip.
Is this normal? Do I need to do anything about this? Could this be caused by overcharging with Freon
It is completely normal for cold metal lines to condense moisture out out of the air (sweat) when the humidity is high enough and the temperature of the metal is below dewpoint.
