Got a 2001 Supercrew and the AC seems to whine every now and then. It works great however every once in a while it will whine while its on and it gets louder as I turn it up. It does work while it is whining too. I dont feel like taking it somewhere to pay someone to look at it. I dont know much about ac thats why im seeking help. Any information would help.

 

Sounds like the compressor bearings getting tired.

 

Take it buy a shop see if they will listen. Might be the compressor clutch and that's something you can change yourself.
