AC Compressor acting up
Back in February I had to replace one of two Solenoids on the firewall to get my 4 Wheel working. I removed em both and cleaned em then replaced the one for the 4x4. It got hot today and I kicked on the AC and I'm getting no cooling but the compressor kicks on for three seconds then off for three seconds then repeats. Could I have damaged the Solenoid for the AC Compressor and need to replace it?
Usually that is a sign of low refrigerant. On the plus, it still has some or it wouldn't work at all. I have had some good luck putting a charge in myself with a kit from the local NAPA. Comes with every thing you need.
It may last the summer, may not. It's low for a reason.
If you do charge it back up yourself, wait untill it gets hot out to do it. The hotter the better.
