I have an '01 SuperCrew 4x4 with 5.4 and the ABS light comes on after a few miles, and periodically goes back off, then on again. Saw problem addressed on a TV show about trucks, but can't remember what was done. I think it had to do with bad C.V. axles (independant front suspension on 4x4) allowing too much slack for sensor. Am I way off or has anyone found the worn C.V. joints causing this problem?

 

Does it turn on and off only when driving? Does it happen when its on a flat road?

 

After a couple of miles, the light comes on. Sometimes it'll go out during the 15 minute ride to town. During a long road trip, it has come on and gone out several times. Flat roads, hills, doesn't matter.
Any ideas?

 

Man that's weird! Do you know where the sensor is? I'd check for a loose wire.
