Default ABS Light on

I had to remove the steering wheel air bag and steering wheel to work on the steering column. The battery was disconnected for about 2 weeks during all this. I put everything back together and everything works great but the ABS light won't go off now. Any ideas on how to turn it off?

I did try to scan for codes and the scan tool is saying that the ecu is not communicating with the tool. It's always something. Fix one problem only to cause another one

It's usually a wheel speed sensor but it's more than likely nothing related to your steering work. . unless you unplugged something and didn't plug it back

I bought a used truck that came with the abs light on, the signal lights would work/not work and the digital odometer would come on/off. I removed the instrument cluster and soldered the pin for the odometer problem. Then I saw a orange wire that was loose in the multi switch in which I glued it back in for the signal lights. Put it all back together and the abs light was gone. Signal lights now work correctly and the odometer is now working correctly.
I have no idea why the abs light went out.

blown fuse.. does you cig lighter work ? replace the fuse and your ECM port will work again. Also I would double check the plug on the air bag.

Merry Christmas
I agree, check the fuses
Pretty easy to blow the horn fuse while doing column repairs
