Default ABS issues

I've done a lot of research but I've decided to ask here for some more legitimate help. My girlfriend has a '97 F150 4.6l. She took it to Ford to fix a problem with cylinder 1 & 4. They did a basic tune up and the truck ran fine for about 30 minutes. The check engine light came on and the next day the ABS light came on. She wasn't able to take it out of park. The ABS issue was never here before taking it to Ford. I checked the fuses and noticed one of blown. She took it back to Ford and said the gentlemen who worked on the engine forgot to plug something in, that took care of the check engine problem. They replaced the fuse and sent her on her way, saying the problem is fixed. It happened again and she takes it back and they are trying to charge her over 665 dollars to take apart the dash to replace the shifter relay and solenoid. I don't believe in certain coincidences such as this. Could something they had done while working on the truck cause this issue? The right tail light seems to go out along with the fuse. I've done a lot of research and most problems seems to not point to this direction. Shifting is perfectly fine. There are no delays of any sort. I'm just having a hard time personally seeing this as the problem, of course i'm known to be wrong which is why I'm asking the people here who will know more about the F150 than myself.

Wish I could help, Chris. Unfortunately, I'm not a great mechanic, old shade tree stuff is about all I do. But, something sounds a tad fishy here to me. I'd have a reputable mechanic check it again, telling him this situation.

So let's cut to the trucks issues: abs light, a blown fuse and a taillight that goes out. Is that correct? I really don't see a connection to changing plugs unless they damaged the abs unit under the hood- its right near the driver side head. If you can post the abs code which they should have given you at the dealer we can probably get you some more info. What fuse is blowing? Does the taillight always work or is it intermittent?

Do you think a diode could be going out? It possibly brake fluid (or say any fluid) leaking on a plug that's shorting out an blowing the fuse?
That onced happend to me. Just a little different. The electric plug on my master cylinder went bad, and it blew a fuse because it shorted when the brake fluid leaked through the plug, and my truck was stuck in park because of the fuse it blew. Think it could be the same but different senerio?
