Default 99 F150 shudders

Hey,

I have a short wheelbase 4x4 with a 4.2l in it and I am having major shudders. I have read a lot online that it is most likely a miss fire but it is not only happening during the 40 to 60 mile zone but it happens when accelerating slowly at around 30 and during deceleration as well.

Suggestions for repairing it?

You need to manually shift it to know exactly shifting from what gear its happening.
1-2, 2-3, 3-4 ?

I will try the manual shifting.

It feels more like it is in the front end than the rear end.

Thanks guys

So I did the manual shift and it between 1 and 2 it was smooth. Between 2 and 3 it was a little clunky and between 3 and 4 it was ruff. When I slowly accelerated it seems worst after 40 miles and hour.

Rear end seems good no noise.

Clues guys?

No CEL? Check fuel pressure/change the filter.

Ok guys finally got the CEL checked and I had 5 codes PO743 and PO750 as well as a running lean on banks 1 and 2 and O2 sensor on bank 1. How are they connected? Do I need a new tranny or just replace the solenoids? The tranny fluid looks good as you can tell it was replace not long ago.

Also changed the plugs and cleaned the intake some but that did not help it running lean.

Will change the fuel filter next for the lean issue but the TC issue remains a mystery.

Thanks

You should reset the PCM after doing the repair.

Fix all the Engine codes first. You don't need a new tranny. It could be a faulty center Brake Light. Check if the 3 bulbs are working when the brakes are applied. TC is easy but it will be easier doing it one step at a time.

How do you reset the PCM? All the lights are working. It has started to act like it is neutral at around 35 mph.

Any other thought?
