98 window problems

Default 98 window problems

my truck has decided to not allow the windows to go up,was wondering which fuse i could check or is it a relay??

First, try cleaning the switch contacts (do a search here, and there are a number of threads that show you what to clean). My '98 was doing that for a while - but the window wouldn't go down - and you could hear the relay click when I tried. Our year is strange, in that the relay determines direction of the motor, based on the switch position. I also had to lube the tracks, as ANY slight resistance would stop the window from going down immediately. So, start with the electrical contact cleaner on the switches themselves. The fact that they go down means that the fuse is intact (same circuit for up/down).

On my 99 the passenger side switch is reversed. Down is up and up is down. Lol

Mine too bro. I could switch the connections on the window switch, but with the switch the way it is I feel it gives the truck a little character. :-)

It sounds to me like you are all experiencing a failing motor which is quite common on our trucks. Hit the motor with a hammer and it may work a while longer...

Ill check the contacts my dads 98to would do it on the passenger side.mine use to some times go up n down sometimes not.now it wont do anything, its ok beings its stuck down but I need to fix it and im off tom.
