How difficult to get replacement or salvage title for it? I was told it could cost close to $500 due to VIN search, etc (they really only want the money!). If the drivetrain is good, getting a bed assembly should be easy, therefore make yourself a driver out of it. Cab looks sharp!

Swap the VIN plate from your old truck to this one? LOL! No... That would be bad. Tempting though, eh? But, on a more legal note... You could sell me some parts you won't be using! LOL

Or it could be a good starting point for a trailer queen off road only rig! Bed is already gone, good place for a small flatbed strictly to hold your spare tire, jack, gas cans, etc... You don't have to license and register off-road only rigs as long as you're willing to trailer it to the trailhead.

And that was for a salvage title? Nutz!!! I think it's easier in Georgia.

Honestly, I would just gather as much information as you can find about your truck, get it typed up real nice and take it to the DMV and be patient and respectful and you may be able to get by. (I live in GA and you can talk these people into anything.) What state are you trying to register in?
