98 Fuse Box: Same part number, slightly different application
Greetings everyone. I've followed this forum for awhile now. In fact, this is how I figured out the bad windshield/water leak/dead fuse box problem so many other folks have dealt with.
Here's what I'm facing now:I finally figured out that while the first numbers/letters of the part number were the same (F85B-14A067) the last two letters determine the model it goes on. For my truck the letters are AA. I think BB is for an Excursion and BC is for an Expedition.
I've also learned that within the AA part fuse boxes, they have slightly different ones for the different trucks within that line. In this case, mine has a B code for a 4x2 truck, C is for a 4x4, and there are a few other letters as well.
Now my question: Do you think there is enough of a difference between a B code fuse box and a C code (or other letter) fuse box?
I just spent 30 minutes looking at most of the truck's electrical diagrams. From what I see, any small difference shouldn't matter. I couldn't find any system where a circuit was "either one or the other". Instead, the diagrams showed it would be "you can use this one or that one". The C fuse box may be wired for the transfer case switch, but I'll never use it. Was looking for some input on the idea. Thanks for the time.
