'98 ball joints
'98 4x4 needs uppers and lowers How much of a task is it? should i attempt it myself or leave it to some one who knows better or at least better equipped as i am quite mechanically inclined myself
I don't know what you're capable of...but if you want to do it you can.
If you have a socket set, pipe, needle nose and can rent a press you can do it. Might need to pick up a socket for the axle nut. Get alignment when done.
Shop cost around here is around a grand. Do it yourself for a couple hundred and half a Saturday.
It's suspension work...never super easy but not too bad. Nothing to really screw up.

Just did mine for the first time ever this weekend, also did the hub bearings. It's not a bad job at all if you have the tools and decent amount of mechanical ability. You will definitely save a fist full of cash. Got my parts from rock auto, spend the money on the moog. Just my .02

I just did mine not too long ago with all moog parts and it was all pretty straight forward. I had to leave the parts to soak overnight because of all the lovely salt they put on MN roads but it can be done in one day. Make sure you get a caster camber kit if your truck doesn't have one already or it can't be aligned
