Default 97 ford 4x4 Doesn't work

I have a 97 F-150 and it has the electronic 4x4 and it quit working and so did the brake lights at the same time. I have checked all the fuses and they are good. When I step on the brake the third brake light flashes on for a second. All of the other lights work. Any help would be GREAT!

You could have a broken or rubbed through wire somewhere. Maybe a dead short that only allowing the current to get to the light for a second. And on the four wheel drive part most common problem with that is the 4x4 electric motor, not sure how you check to make sure of thats the problem or not I would say have someone listen to see if it's engaging and if not start there. Just some tips not sure of they'll help or not.

You are or you aren't getting the light? If you're not getting the light then I would have to say either the bulb is burned out or the hi/low indicator switch is out one of the two. Start with the bulb if it comes on when you cycle the key then it's not the bulb it's the switch.
