97 "f250"s were the 9th gen and the 7700 like the op's. There was no superduty or heavy duty 250 in 98.... Just the 7700 (150 body) 99 was the first year of the superduty

Yep, they did still have the 3/4 tons and up, they were still the old style though. I think the first '99 I saw was about August of '98. I thought, what manner of beast is this?!?" still love that body style, absolutely hate the '08 to present Super Duty bodies.

I miss my V10, it was awesome seeing some of the double takes I'd get from people that weren't familiar with engines at stop lights. It was a nice powerful motor.

My dad had one like 4 years ago. I thought it was the coolest truck ever. But he traded it because gas prices were "ridiculous"
