I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for some help with my 97 F150 XLT 4×4, I used to have no windshield wipers, dome light, or power windows unless it was really hot outside, now that is colder and doesn't rain at much I didn't mind it, today on my way back from College the wipers started working out of nowhere alongside the windows, when I got home and shut the truck off, the radio is still on, but if I turn ON the wipers then it shuts off, windows are the same thing, when the wipers started working I could hear what sounded like a relay click when the lights were Off, any suggestions?

 

Sounds like a GEM issue, could of gotten wet.

Seriously though you can try to disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes to let every thing power down. It may help, it may not.
If it doesn't then as JCR 56 mentioned its probably the GEM & it could in a PITA to locate & install one since
the GEM mounts directly to the fuse box.

 

Right, -if a hard disconnect don't work, it's Uncle Bens to the rescue....soak the GEM in rice.
