hi I'm new here i just bought my first ford lol its a 97 4.2 xlt. well i have been told its a lifter tap but just had all new ford lifters put in and still same issue. it taps like hell till it gets to running temp then 90% goes away. now when cold you can rev it or at idle no tap. soon as you put it in drive and load it to 1500 RPM it will tap when cold. now on cold nights it will tap all the time even at running temp. what could it be?


new issue that just started i get a ruff idle in drive. sometimes i cant tell the trucks running and then it can make the whole center console shake an i mean bad. if its shakes like that for to long when i leave the light it feels like 80% of my hp left the motor. the issue clears at 3000 or so RPM long as your driving or neutral you don't really have a prob. now i had the injectors cleaned / a new ford dpfe / new ford wires and plugs / new fuel filter / new iacv. anyone with same issues that was fixed please help thanks.
