Mr. J. Bauer
I have a '97 with 220k on it and runs like a dream. It's been awfully god damn cold up here in ND (like 55 below 0 with the wind, 25 below without) and I haven't driven it for a week it has sat not plugged in and it started today with no problems. With the exhaust I prefer the true duals but with a set of mufflers so you don't have the annoying sound of exhaust in the cab all the time. It's a cools sound when you're showing off in town but down the highway is just a pain. The only thing that I'm not a big fan of on these trucks is how the spark plugs are place they are a pain to get to but all in all htey are a great truck. Good luck with yours.

No Pain, No Pain!
Well today was my first day of putting any real miles on the truck. I put about 250 miles on it today..I got in it this morning and the Check Engine Light was on and then after driving about 20 miles it suddenly went off and hasn't been back on since. Does that sound fishy at all? The truck runs like a race horse so unless I start having trouble Im going to leave it be. A new oil change is coming tomorrow, Its not due for another 700 miles but I figure what the hell right..LoL.

Flowmaster?
Personally I don't like the straight pipe sound.. I put Magnaflow race series mufflers on mine. Quieter at idle than straight pipe but almost as loud at WOT. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/1...ac00c7e498.htm There is mine.

I have a 97 F150 as well,
270,000 miles with original everything all the way down to the shocks.
If you like a good clean manly sounding exhaust system and are willing to spend a few pennies I’d go with Banks.
Also, so a cool looking tire I suggest the Toyo Open Country if you want an aggressive looking tire
with some big black rims and some bead locks

Resident A-hole
I was told Flowmaster was the way to go and as soon as I'm sure my other problems [previous post] are gone I was intending on having the flowmaster installed. I'm looking for a nice throaty sound, nothing too loud (neighbors don't leave for work as early as I do and they whine a lot). I'm sure straight pipes are going to be too loud. Any thoughts on Magnaflow vs. Flowmaster?

Flowdisasters?
What's so bad about Flowmaster? Honestly, you are the first person I've asked that had a negative opinion of them. And how much more performance (in terms of horsepower) can I expect from Magnaflow? I'm wide open on this. Thanks.

cherrybomb glasspak?
Yeah, and what about the Cherrybomb Glasspak? I originally thought they were just cheap mufflers made to improve sound, not performance. But there are bunches of people on the internet that seem to really like them. Also, what about Banks Exhaust systems (never heard of 'em til' Josh's post) I looked them up on the net and am impressed enough to add them to my list of exhausts to research. Of course, my research begins you all....any thoughts from the f-150 crowd? We know NGM doesn't like Flowmaster, but what about others who have installed Cherrybombs, Banks, Flowmasters, or Magnaflows?
