Default 97 4.6 firing order 4x4

Maybe I just search with bad keywords but confused about firing order, truck I just bought has everything labeled wrong and online says 1-4 passenger side front to back 5-8 drivers side same.. another page shows wires crisscrossing everywhere on mismatched numbers? Thought all wires matched to ignition coil no matter what? Novice here.

Front of engine.

passenger side coil 1563 driver side coil 4872
2 wires from each coil go to each side of the engine.

You follow your firing order, nothing else matters except where the cylinders are. But you've proved you know that.

If you are inquiring about this because you are changing your wires (and/or plugs) be cautious as to what you are putting on your truck. Motorcraft or Denso wires, and Motorcraft plugs are what these trucks like.

Yes, and I'll have to check what they gave me, what about ignition coils? I'm doing those also? Thanks!

Denso or Motorcraft are the best for coil packs as well. These truck really, really dislike anything but Motorcraft plugs.
