Let me try to explain this. I have a 2003 F150 Crew Cab XLT 4.6l. I have pulled my cluster out 3 times and tried to change the 6 primary bulbs. 1st try had the wrong bulbs, 2nd try was my issue because I bought the cheap Taiwan bulbs that did not illuminate the dash very well. It had some soft spots on the edges plus I had an issue getting some of the bulbs out of the base. 3rd try I bought the better ones and also bought a package of T5 bases to replace the ones that had the frozen bulbs in them. When i removed the bulbs I damaged the copper tabs inside the base on 2 of them. The T5 bases I bought through superbrightleds.com do not fit into the cluster. They are just slightly bigger than the bases I have. I also bought another set through a different company but they were the same as the ones I recently bought. This is quite frustrating and Ford cannot help me at all. Also mine are black and most of the pictures I see are white bases. Can anyone assist with the correct base/socket part number?

On a good note, I've fixed my Odometer & PRNDL and adjusted it, so it wasn't all in vain.

Thanks for any help you can offer. Ron

FYI - replaced the 1997 underhood light with these and they are super bright...you can't stare at the bulb.
Amazon Amazon

With LED, you have to be cognizant of where the LEDs are located so that you don't get shadows...these fit the bill nicely.

is it possible to buy 2 whole light boxes from the front doors and use them in the place of the reflectors in the back doors and wire them so they work just like the front ones?
