I've googled 5 tones ford f150, and it references the airbags. However on my 2000 f150, I have 5 tones that beep about 10 seconds after I shut off the truck. The airbag light is working, it illuminates for a few seconds at startup, and then turns off. There are no tones at startup or while driving and the tones do not repeat, its just 5 tones. Any thoughts?

No alarm. It does have a light on the dash that says 'theft'

Is the key out when it chimes?

Yes, truck is off and key has been removed. The sound is like a beeping tone, not the usual key chime, if that helps any.

I have not heard of that, but all ive got to go by is my s-crew.
Is it an aftermarket stereo?

Yes, there is an aftermarket stereo that appears poorly installed. I just bought this truck used 3 days ago.

Does it matter if stereo is on or off?

It only happens after I turn off the truck and remove the key, so the stereo is off. Its crazy, because I can't have the only truck that does it I appreciate your help in trying to diagnose it.

Even if the key is off, the stereo has power to it, thats what keeps the clock going and the presets set- try pulling the fuse and see if it stops.
Something like that would drive me crazy, until i found it , or found that its a normal function.
