5 speed trans temps?

Does anyone know how hot a 99 ford f150 5 speeds trans gets I'm looking to get a trans temp gauge but didn't know if a water temp gauge goes high enough for trans temps

Why? I've never heard of our 5 speeds having an over temp issue
