Default 5 speed manual or Automatic?

I am thinking about changing my 5 speed manual to an automatic tranny. I have an 00 F150 SWB 2wd. Any thoughts about cost and labor.

Enginges? 4.2 won't bolt to a 4.6 or 5.4 spec 4r70. Have to get a 4.2 auto tranny.

Automatic is better, faster and tows 2x more than manual tranny.

Manual tranny Driveshaft & U-Joint are different.
A/T driveshaft 120" and 139" wheelbase

You also need different PCM.

It's easier to just buy an automatic truck and sell what you have. It'll cost you a couple grand to get it in and running right, maybe more. Just put your truck up for sale and buy one that's already automatic.

^^ This.
You will put way more into it that it is worth even if you are able to get it running right.
