Have an 01 5.4 7700 f150, 153k I just did the gotts mod and cut my muffler out and replaced with just a straight pipe. Also cleaned the throttle body and put a K&N air filter in. (factory replacement to go with the gotts mod). Now everytime i start it it revs way up to like 2500 rpms.

Anyone elses 5.4 do this?

Also before the mods i was getting 11 mpg on the hiway, havent checked yet with the new mods but will report back.

 

Does it rev and then come back down?

 

Did you reset the computer after all of the mods? I always reset mine after I do anything so that the computer can learn its new operating peramters.

 

Yeah it comes down eventually, i just didnt know if this was normal or if i messed something up when i was tinkering,

Yes i left the battery unhooked like all afternoon.

 

Might be the computer learning still. Has it been colder then usual? I know some of my stuff will rev when its cold then come back down.
